The Enterprise Dedicated Server Monitoring service is designed for customers who wish to have a dedicated advanced monitoring system on either a multiple server solution or a single server – such as a dedicated MOSS 2007 or SharePoint server solution.
The monitoring service uses a customer-dedicated monitoring platform and can monitor up to 6 basic front end services running on the server and up to 10 back end processes on each server, with 2 reports per server.
Port 80 Monitoring: see if the web server is running
Port 443 Monitoring: see if the secure web service is running Ping: see if the physical server is up Port 43 Monitoring : see if the ftp (file transfer) service is running
HTTP QOS: perform quality of server check on the web server to ensure speedy response
HTTPS QOS: perform quality of server check on the secure web server to ensure speedy response
Application Monitoring: see if the application is running (up to 2 applications per server)
CPU Usage: see if the CPUs are spiking (up to 4 CPUs per server)
Memory Usage: see if memory is running out
Disk Usage: see if disk space is running out (up to 3 disks monitored per server)
